Guards first, then the bare blade. Every fade is blended by hand from the skin up and checked from both sides and the back.

Scissor over comb
Length and texture on top, cut so it sits right on day seven, not just day one.

Razor & hot towel
A straight-razor line-up for edges you could set a ruler to, and a hot towel to finish the shave.
